The PPGECM area of ​​concentration “Science and Mathematics Teaching” involves projects and research linked to the areas of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, with the main focus being investigations into teaching and learning processes at different levels of education. The approximation and integration of disciplinary knowledge in the areas of Science Teaching and Mathematics Education enable a new look at the issues of teaching, learning, curriculum and training of teachers and researchers. The research carried out focuses on themes that discuss the relationships between scientific/school and cultural knowledge, proposing the defragmentation of knowledge, as it expands and problematizes it. Studies are proposed on the teaching and learning processes in Natural Sciences (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics in formal and non-formal spaces, the basic education curriculum and teacher training and the production of teaching and technological resources for school education.
